I feel it’s important to share what happened to my mother so others can make an informed decision before using this service. She contacted this locksmith because her car key was old and unreliable, and she was quoted £240 for a replacement. That seemed reasonable enough, and she agreed to the callout. After providing her with a spare key, he informed her that there was a problem with the ignition barrel and that it could fail without warning. My mother is elderly and often drives to meet friends, so the suggestion that she might suddenly be left stranded understandably caused her a great deal of anxiety. He then offered to replace the part for a “special one‑off price” of £400, emphasising more than once that a recovery would cost her far more. When she said she wanted to speak to me before agreeing to anything further, she was told that he needed a decision immediately because he had other jobs to attend to. He also stated that if she called back later, it would mean an additional £150 callout fee. Faced with that pressure, she felt she had little choice but to proceed on the spot. Since then, I have attempted to contact him several times via email, as I prefer to keep a written record of communication. None of those messages have been acknowledged. After speaking with other local locksmiths, I have been advised that £240 for what appears to be a low‑quality key is already high, and that a total of £640 especially when my mother was not given a clear explanation of what was actually done is extremely concerning. All she was told at the end was that her car was “fixed.” The entire situation has left her shaken, and it has raised serious questions about the way vulnerable customers are treated. I am now seeking legal advice, as the circumstances surrounding this job do not feel fair EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT It’s worth noting that the photo included in your review isn’t even from a Ford Transit it’s from my mothers VW Up. That alone highlights a serious misunderstanding of the vehicles you’re talking about. For anyone claiming to be knowledgeable about locks or keys, confusing two completely different manufacturers doesn’t reflect well on their credibility. Here's a picture also of a Ford Transit ignition barrel I've downloaded from the internet as I do not own a Ford, you will do well in saving these pictures for identification to help with your future lock jobs that you fail to identify correctly, as the eagle eyed will notice these are entirely different. Also noted is the keys being held, one of which is a VW key (from my mothers UP) the other is in fact a Honda style key (the one that you supplied) that I have identified as being after a very quick google search. I am no locksmith but I'm very much certain that any automotive locksmith would be able to identify these very easily.

Lost my car keys last Sunday and the only locksmith that was willing to come out at such short notice and had a respectful & friendly attitude was Auto Secure Cornwall. I purchased a new car with only one key so needed a spare. I contacted Sam who came to my work, at a time convenient to me, completed the job in less than an hour and charged a reasonable fee. Very happy customer with my new pink key. Fantastic service from Sam, would definitely recommend.

I wasn't going to write a review but after my friends van was broken into using some of the methods used in the videos he posts on Facebook I have had to. Below is what I should have written weeks ago. I cannot believe the level of incompetence and outright negligence I experienced with this company. I had a so‑called “high security” lock fitted to my van, and the workmanship was appalling from start to finish. What should have been a straightforward job ended up dragging on for almost the entire day, and even after all that wasted time the fitment is terrible — uneven, sloppy, and clearly not done to any professional standard. To make matters worse, the installation has been plastered all over Facebook, with videos showing exactly how these locks are fitted and, unbelievably, how to break into the vans they are supposed to protect. My neighbour owns a Transit Custom, and the exact break‑in method demonstrated in those videos was used on his van. He has now lost thousands of pounds worth of tools after thieves broke in using the same technique. The fact that this company is effectively teaching criminals how to bypass the very locks they sell is beyond irresponsible — it is dangerous. This company was recommended to me by someone who had keys supplied by them, but even those keys have now started to fail. So not only is the workmanship poor, but the products themselves are unreliable. And when you try to get help? Forget it. Emails and texts are ignored, and if you persist, they simply block you. No accountability, no customer service, no respect for the people who trusted them with their vehicles and livelihoods. It is disgraceful that a business trading on “security” can operate like this — leaving customers out of pocket, vans vulnerable, and livelihoods at risk. I would strongly warn anyone against using this company. They are not professional, they are not trustworthy, and they are certainly not providing security. What they are doing is putting people in danger.

Had a security lock fitted to my van, job done OK although it did take a while to do. Next day I find out that there are photos of my van and property on his Facebook page, without my permission. Not only this, within the same post, he then gives the year, make and model details, and informing people where they can look online for videos showing how to break into my van type. Told him to remove post, he did. Asked for a receipt of the work, not received. He offered a full refund, not received. He has ghosted and blocked me. Friends and family have sent me screen shots of an image of my van still on his Facebook page, being used as advertising.

Incredible service. Spoke with Sam when stranded in Helston with a broken car key. Despite being Sunday afternoon Sam was happy to come and help, charging a reasonable rate, and was good humoured at each interaction. Would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic service from Sam he’s done a few keys for me now and I would 100% recommend he’s very professional and polite nothing is to much hassle and his response time is fantastic 👌

Sam came out got me back into the van and replaced my faulty key he was quick efficient and friendly got to me within the hour of contacting 👍

Locked out my van at 9 was recommended to auto secure he was on his way by 9:15 and did this job quickly
