Dr Scupia is at the top of her profession. She has decades of experience. I was tested for blood work that I had not previously been tested. Thank you for helping me better my health. Also she is one of the few people that offer CMIT ultrasound. Got my thyroid ultrasound for the first time. Look forward to working with her and her professional staff. Highly recommend.

One of the worst experiences I've had with a doctor in my life. I have a very rare genetic condition that my PCP is trying to find the proper care for, and she sent me to try Dr Scumpia. Within 10 seconds of walking into the room she's immediately telling me that she doesn't understand why I'm there and that she isn't familiar with my condition, despite my PCP contacting them beforehand and being told that their facility handled my condition there before she even referred me. Dr Scumpia immediately starts pivoting the appointment to talk about my weight in the least gracious way possible, in which she looked at me like I was stupid and kept repeating "you know this is a problem, right?" until I agreed with her. She then started berating me for not having seen a specialist sooner when I told her that I had only ever seen my old surgeon who diagnosed me, without even asking WHY or trying to understand anything about my situation. She was very cold and rude the entire time and when I started having a panic attack due to how I was being treated all she could say was "Stop, please don't." Absolutely no care whatsoever and very uncomfortable for both of us at that point. The 1-star only goes towards the rest of the staff in the building, because everyone else truly was very kind in contrast. They took the time to explain what they could to me, answered questions, and treated me with more kindness and compassion when they saw how upset I was than the doctor herself. One of the staff as I was leaving took one look at how upset I was and said "She was mean to you, wasn't she?" which told me everything I needed to know about Dr Scumpia and her lack of bedside manners. I'm never coming back here again, and unless you're the type of person who wants to fight tooth and nail just for a doctor to take you seriously and treat you with basic human decency, I would not recommend her to anyone.

My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 on Tuesday, Feb 24, 2026 and I was seen on time. The office and medical staff were very efficient. After the nurse went over my medical history I saw Dr Scumpia, Like everyone else, Dr. Scumpia was also very efficient, nice, and answered all my questions and concerns. I definitely would refer my family or friends to Austin Thyroid and Endocrinology and to Dr Scumpia.

There was a mix up re labs due to me changing my mind about requesting then wanting to cancel the thyroid lab. When I reached the lab the order had not been removed so understandably it caused confusion. The lab tech pursued in finding out what had/had not happened & I appreciate his thoroughness. Also, Christine (?) admin carefully listened to my explanation & then did test understanding to ensure she understood. Basically it seems a timing issue btw going from Christa’s office & removing the order before I reached the lab. I appreciate Christa bearing with me re the change. Also, I appreciate Alexis Holder taking time to talk through my concerns regarding Rybelsus & her offer to have labs sent to naturopathic doctor who is also working with me. Thank you to all

The worst doctor experience I've had in my life. First visit: I was hopeful going in, Dr. Scumpia is definitely an educated woman who knows her stuff, but it was very cold and rushed. I was grateful I could get my labs on the spot though. I wanted to DISCUSS getting on an insulin pump for the first time ever, she forwarded me along to the Diabetes Educator. Second visit: visiting the Diabetes educator was terrible. It was a regurgitation of all Diabetes information you can find in a standard textbook, online, etc. There was absolutely NO listening to my experience, my concerns, my lifestyle, etc. It was very clear they did not want to field any of my questions or concerns, to listen, or to talk about it. They essentially wanted to shove information at me, expected me to just sit there and take their recommendation at face value, and not question anything. They go angry and short with me when I asked any pretty standard questions. Third visit: essentially the same, but with Dr. Alexis Holder. Extremely rude, again just wanted to shove info at me without listening or working with me, my patterns, etc. Made me feel bad for question things, and wanting to talk about what solutions would work for ME. Fourth visit: I got on a pump and Medtronic told me the first training had to be at the office (I honestly wish I could have had it with Medtronic, they were a lot more supportive for the online training). It was with the Diabetes Educator again. It was extremely rushed. She tried to put me on an insulin ratio that would have been detrimental to my health - I had to argue with her, get on the phone with Dr. Holder, and ultimately they put me on the insulin ratio I had to argue for. It would have been detrimental to my health if they put me on the insulin ratio they initially recommended. They rushed me through the visit, didn't have any care for if I was understanding how to do everything - it was again so rushed, cold, just wanted to get through giving me the textbook info without any care that I was understanding things. Fifth visit: this was supposed to be my 1 week post-pump initiating visit, where I also needed to change my set, etc. They were an 1.5 hours late from my initial visit and I had to go to work. When I confronted her about it sitting down, she got angry with me, essentially gaslit me and made me feel bad for confronting her, and then ultimately kicked me out of her office because I told her I'm not going to come back after the visit. Very childish, as though she had to be the one to kick me out rather than me leave post-visit. It was negligent at best, because she knew that meeting was important for me to fully understand the pump, adjust things as needed, and change my set. I had to go home and learn everything on YouTube and do it myself. THIS OFFICE IS NEGLIGENT, COLD, AND ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT LISTEN TO YOUR ACTUAL CONCERNS AND WHAT IS GOING ON FOR YOU. WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND. STAY AWAY!!!

Dr. Scumpia is very thorough. She made some referrals for me and helped me get answers. She listens to me and gives good advice. She is very careful and has really kept an eye on me over the last several years. I am so grateful for her and her team for their care. the receptionist is so very kind and helpful. She takes care of everyone like they are most important person. She’s attentive and explains billing and insurance well. Ultrasound tech was very helpful and reassuring. He was upbeat and energetic even super early in the morning. When I had my blood drawn I didn’t even feel it. Completely painless- the easiest blood draw I’ve ever had. It was super quick too. I love this team. I will never leave!

I love this doctor and the various groups within her office. She is the most thorough doctor I have seen in the Austin area. She will do every possible test to find a problem then solve it. She's amazing. With that said, this doctor is not a 'hold your hand' or 'I want to make you feel good' type. So if you are looking to solve a problem, she will find it then advice how to proceed. I have extreme confidence in her.

Dr Scumpia is thorough in her assessment of my health. She ran several tests in order to provide me with the proper medicine and will monitor my symptoms for intervals to be sure I am on the right path. I am very glad she was referred to me.

I would give this place a negative star if possible. Dr Scumpia is cold , rude and has the worst bed side manners that I have ever encountered. If you want a doctor who will listen and talk through your problems she aint the one. Mind you the staff is great everyone in the front desk, radiology are great but this doctor is the absolute worst . I ama mazed on how this place is still up and running after treating patients so badly. Scumpia (dont want to call her a doc at this point as doctors are someone who cares) once legit walked out of the office while I was still explaining her my concerns. Had to wait an hour to get dismissed in a minute.

I am thoroughly impressed. The office is very efficient, all of the staff is friendly and personable. Dr. Scumpia is very direct and on point. It’s amazing what progress has been made in one week! I have used their portal several times to ask questions and responses have been very prompt.
