Tricky A/V install? Call the Doctor! I initially consulted with Dave for a tricky custom installation of a solid hardwood media cabinet we purchased as well as TV wall mounting and surround sound wiring. I also ended up purchasing a pair of awesome ultra thin KEF T101 satellite speakers from him to replace my bulky surround speakers that I had the opportunity to listen to in his insanely awesome showroom/house. I've literally never seen anything like it. Communication was a little tricky at first coordinating mine and Dave's busy schedule but once we had set up a day for the install things went smoothly. Within 2 days time, Dave and his team had our media cabinet floating over our floor with the 60" TV floating above it along with invisible wiring of our surround sound system. The result looks like something you'd find in a high end decor catalog or a baller hotel suite. Something that was especially important to me was the care the team took during the installation. They laid down thick paper to protect flooring throughout the project, removed shoes while in our place and provided a high level of finish by touching up paint on walls as needed. Dave even calibrated the surround sound system after everything was all set up and it sounds better than it ever did.

I’m really happy to have found Dave and Audio Intellect. I was looking for a new amplifier, and had a few models in mind. First, Dave was super responsive over email and gave me a lot of details, suggesting me other highly rated options that may work with my speakers. When I came to the store for a listening session, I was immediately impressed by the quality of all the equipment already in place. We listened and compared amplifiers extensively, and Dave took a huge amount of time to help me find the right one for me. During the entire process I felt like Dave not only had an immense knowledge of brands and models, but also really cared about giving customers the best experience. I found the right amplifier, and I’ll be coming back!

Secondly Dave is a prime example of good business practices. He is truly sincere and will go to extreme lengths to ensure his customers are satisfied with every purchase. Lastly, I am extremely happy with my purchase from the Audio Doctor. The sound is superb, he quickly installed my system, and I truly believe my money was well-spent. WOW! As I am in the market for new speakers I just had the great pleasure to demo several brands with the most time generous owner, Dave. The selection of gear is overwhelming in an extremely good way. More choices than one can possibly imagine. Dave was attentive not pushy and had great knowledge of each speaker I demoed that day, as he did with all his other gear. A laid back super friendly listening experience. I had a very unusual but wonderful experience visiting Dave, the Audio Doctor. Unusual by means of his home and business in a Victorian home in Jersey City. I arrived 15 minutes early for an 11am appointment on Sunday and was greeted by his down to earth and friendly wife. We spoke for about 15 minutes discussing this old Victorian home while Dave was getting prepared for my arrival. She offered something to drink and I asked for a cup of tea in which she complied graciously. The house was set up with a large variety of top named components in different rooms ranging in prices from affordable to very expensive. I didn't feel I was in a showroom but in a friend's living room which added to the experience. Next up, Dave himself, one of the nicest and enthusiastic person you want to meet. For the next 2 hours we spoke about audio equipment and his knowledge was quite impressive. He worked at some of the high-end audio shops in Manhattan I use to visit with my brother back in the 70s and 80s. I felt as if i was speaking to an old friend. I guess we both got caught up in our interest and enthusiasm of audio equipment that I almost forgot why I was there in the first place. Not once during this time period did Dave try to sell anything. The next hour we discussed music servers and Dacs and did some listening. But what blew me away, Dave offered to bring some components we discussed to my home to audition. Wow, talk about great service! After over 40 years of auditioning audio equipment at many showrooms in the New York area, I cannot recommend a better experience and the hospitality of the Audio Doctor.

I have just had one of the most pleasant audio experiences with Dave at Audio Intellect. He is one of the most genuine, knowledgeable, helpful and insightful people you will ever meet, I f you are looking for a firm of straight shooters in the audio area, who are interested in your setup, you would be hard pressed to find their equal.

These days it is difficult for true audiophiles to have a place they can go to and demo top quality, hi-fidelity stereo components, and have a friendly and knowledgeable person to discuss the options and features available with no attitude or sales pressure. Audio Intellect is that place and Dave Lalin is that guy. He listened to me and then put together a amplifier and speaker combination for me that makes me giddy because the sound is so pure - both at high volume and low volumes, the way it was meant to be. He gave me a great deal, and then he and his son, Sylvan, delivered and installed the system in my apartment late in the evening on a Sunday in order to accommodate my insane weekly work schedule. (AND, he is a dog guy, a fact that was apparent from my two dogs' reaction to him the second he walked in the door.) I feel like a kid the day after Christmas and cannot wait to get home and listen to some of my old vinyl and newer digital collection through the awesome NAD C368 amplifier and Wharfedale Jade 7 speakers I purchased. I am not an easy grader and am not that easy to please, but Dave is that rare find who deserves five stars. I highly, highly recommend him for your audiophile needs. Thank you Dave and Sylvan.

​ In the niche market of high end audio video fidelity, Online can only offer so much knowledge and guidance. While doing some research on some speakers, I found some information on the Audio doctor and how his home is his storefront. Amazing!! there's something special about that. When I met Dave for the first time, he spent 4 hours with me and my wife discussing, music, audio equipment and the product that I wanted to evaluate and some alternatives. Dave came of as a truely genuine, enthusiastic, passionate and Knowledage guy. I highly recommend him for his knowledge, response time, and willingness to help. Totally made the experience that much better and changed my perception of my past dealings with other Dealers.

I am loving my new system! when audio stores in NYC were unresponsive to my inquiries, I just turned to "local to me" Jersey City. I had a budget in mind, but once I listened to, and saw some options at Dave's unique residential set up, I bumped up my budget a bit and I am so very happy that for the first time in decades I am "back" to a place like when we really listened to our music, well you know, the 70s and 80s, when we all purchased hi end equipment and spent time with LP covers, in front of our systems. Not only do I feel I have a great system for my situation now, Dave has been endlessly responsive. He and his sons did my install and spent time setting me up. Super happy and will be back for more for sure. I highly recommend Audio Intellect!

Only great things to say about Audio Doctor. Buying audiophile equipment in the NYC area can be quite a challenging experience - with many people judging everything from your musical preferences to your budget and setup. None of that with Audio Doctor. Dave is very professional and does all he can to come up with the best solution to fit your budget. He's technically very knowledgeable and really takes the time to demo equipment for you and answer questions.
