100 years ago today men would still have been fighting in the trenches of World War One. This unimaginable experience changed the World and warfare forever.
Here at Attic Antiques we like to collect items from the Great War, not to glorify it or condone war itself but rather as a reminder that real people went through it.
Postcards are a great example of this. A card from your Mother, your Wife or girlfriend would have been a nice glimpse of home in a Hellish place. Conversely, photographic cards were often sent from the front. These show us soldiers in their down time, proud in their uniforms or in the places they found themselves.
Luckily, we're not the only ones collecting WW1 items, the market is stronger than ever with more and more items being treasured. So if you have postcards or any pieces from the Great War why not get in touch and we'll find them a deserving home.
