Ultimately, more than a dozen unique certifications will be available for all major roofing, waterproofing and rooftop photovoltaic system installations, plus roof system repair and maintenance. NRCA Qualified Assessors and Testing Locations support roofing industry certifications.
Certification Process
A roof system installer certification is earned by passing a two-part exam:
Part One—Online exam
The candidate takes a proctored, roof-system-specific online exam
Part Two—Hands-on performance exam
The candidate will be instructed which tasks he or she must complete to demonstrate installation skills, including safety requirements. The candidate schedules the exam directly with a local Qualified Assessor and performs the exam at a Testing Location. A Qualified Assessor observes and scores the performance.
