Chimney Safety Week 2023 : Tip #1 Schedule Your Sweep & Inspection Early
As the weather changes and the temperatures drop you start to get the urge for that 1st fire of the season.
Before doing so, it is important to schedule a sweep and inspection from a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep®. They will determine if the fireplace or wood-burning appliances and chimney are suitable for continued use, or if there are repairs that need to be made.
This is very important to do before the burning season begins to protect you from any unexpected hazards that may have occurred in the prior year. If you wait too long to call they may already have a full schedule and might not be able to get you in unless there is a cancellation.
The best time to get on the schedule for your annual inspection next year is when they are done this year.
