Tip 2: Appointment Scheduled? Don't Have a Fire the Night Before
After you schedule your annual sweep and inspection, make sure you don’t have a fire the night before the CSIA Certified Sweep® arrives.
Even if the fire is out, the embers and charcoal continue to burn. These products of combustion should be properly disposed of in appropriate containers. Not doing this could cause combustible materials to ignite when contact is made with the hot embers.
So do yourself (and the Sweep) a favor and avoid having a fire for that one night before your CSIA Certified Sweep® arrives for your sweep and inspection.
