A synonym for fast-paced is “fleeting”, meaning “ a very short time”. My art interprets this as cherishing and remembering the small mundane things in life, as there isn’t forever. My artwork creates a fleeting moment in time, emphasising on the fast-paced ideas of the theme.
My artwork is mixed medium, using oil paints and fabrics dyed with acrylic. The warm colours and tinge of the artwork is to recreate the nostalgic feeling. The colourful “clothes”contrast the seemingly plain machine, this is to highlight the joy in appreciating the daily things in life.
In my artwork, the clothes in the washing machine are still spinning, still on cycle. The face movements washing and soaping the clothes, ‘working’ hours on end; but sometimes it’ll stop, and the clothes get taken out to be dried in the sun and cooled by the wind.
