We were recently called to inspect 6 gas-fired unit heaters in a local warehouse. The units were approximately 25 years old and had not been serviced in many years.
During our assessment, 3 of the 6 heaters were found to have significant mechanical and venting concerns. One unit had a deteriorated flue collector assembly that was no longer venting products of combustion properly.
Due to the condition of the equipment, the three affected heaters were safely taken out of service and locked out to prevent operation until repairs or replacements are completed.
