Emergency Water Heater Leak – Chilliwack
Arktik Plumbing & Mechanical responded to an emergency plumbing call in Chilliwack tonight for a water leak shortly after a new electric water heater had been installed by another local contractor.
After investigating, we discovered a lag screw used for seismic strapping had penetrated a ¾” hot water line inside the wall, causing an immediate leak beside the tank.
Our team opened the wall, removed the damaged section of PEX piping, and completed the water line repair before reinstalling the seismic straps properly.
During our inspection we also found a second leak on top of the water heater caused by older components that had been reused. We were able to stop the leak and restore the system temporarily, and recommended replacement parts during a scheduled service visit to prevent future issues.
Another reminder that proper water heater installation and plumbing inspection matters.
If you need a reliable plumber in Chilliwack or the Fraser Valley for water heater repair, leak detection, or emergency plumbing, our team is ready to help.
