Ascertain where the color problem is coming from.
The best way to solve a problem is to figure out what the problem is.
Take Samples pre and far away point from treatment post water system.
This test is good for seeing if it’s coming through your system or from the pipes or appliances.

Color and odor(here on out, known as color)can also come from the system not cleaning itself properly. This usually happens if there isn’t enough freeboard(empty space between where the media sits and the top of the tank) or if there isn’t enough bed expansion(percentage of the media that goes up into the freeboard). This has a lot to do with water velocity. It’s a good idea to check the flow rate of the well pump and the gallons per minute produced by the well.
You can increase the backwash and the rapid rinse to make sure it’s cleaning itself enough. And of course, if you’re getting color and backwashing every three days, you should increase the frequency of the backwash.

Make sure the system is not in bypass and make sure the bypasses are functioning correctly. Physically watched the ball turn when you turn the levers inside the bypass.

Make sure the system is not under engineered. Talk with the homeowner and calculate what their peak flow rate is and match it to the size of the system.

Check the pH of the water pre-and post system
Leave the cleaning solution or regenerative solution in there for extra time and do back to back ,back washes.
