We hired Will to do our driveway back in 2018. At the time, the company was Pitylak Services. After reading the reviews of his work and speaking to him about the job, we decided he was the guy we wanted to go with. We received quotes from other companies, but we wanted to go with a small local business. From our initial experience, Will seemed like the honest, trustworthy, person-of-his-word that local small business was built upon. Boy were we wrong!
When the driveway was first done, Will mentioned numerous times that it would settle and need some touching up later. He stated he'd be back out to check on it and add more coverage if needed. That was two years ago. Shortly after the driveway was completed, I noticed a new water drainage issue that was causing the driveway to flood (pic below). I now know it is caused by the inferior way that Will attempted to route the water with the PVC pipe in the picture. It was not installed deep enough and did not have enough driveway material on top. Water now stands still instead of draining properly, we did not have an issue previously. I contacted Will and he said he'd be right out to take a look. That was two years ago! I have numerous text messages and voicemails since saved with Will saying he'd be out to fix the driveway. At times, he even provided specific dates and times, only to no-show and not contact us. Now, he won't contact us back at all.
Now the company is Apex, and we're out of luck. After doing nothing wrong, and only wanting our driveway completed as agreed upon, Will will not even contact me back to discuss options to get it fixed. I have not been rude or unprofessional to this man, nor am I being unreasonable. The sad part is we were patient for two years knowing that we had Will's continued word he would be out to make things right. Don't let the company change fool you, behind Apex is the same Pitylak Services that left us without a completed job. We paid fair money to do the job, and we're now going to have to pay another company the same amount to get it fixed.
Local business used to be about trust, integrity, and sticking to your word. I suppose it's fitting that the company has changed, since trust, integrity, and sticking to your word is not something we have experienced with Will Pitylak. I wonder if we are the only ones left out of luck. Please take these words as a warning of our true experience. We have nothing to gain by embellishing or not being truthful, we simply expected to get the driveway product we were promised when we hired Will for the job. It's been two years, and the driveway looks worse than it did before we ever met Will. We'd HIGHLY suggest you give your business and hard-earned money elsewhere.
