We had a recent total loss from a crash, two young children that take up all of our time, and wanted to buy a used car, despite not being car experts ourselves. A pre-purchase inspection where someone else does all the work of getting to the car and telling you what you didn't spot was just the ticket.
We hired Leander Andujar to look at two different cars at the higher $250, 90 minute inspection level, a week apart. Each time, he was able to go same day I paid on the website (I had checked with him by phone ahead of time) and provided a written report within a couple of hours of completing the inspection, plus a google drive folder full of photos of all the parts that he inspected. We also a received a list of current and history codes and a report on the health of the car's hybrid battery.
Leander was extremely though, and we like how the report was organized with red columns so you could get right back to the areas of concern.
We were looking to buy a Prius, which is the car that Leander drives on his own, so if you are also looking to buy a Prius, that makes him an extra good person to hire.
Leander found several things that we had missed, including important safety issues and followed-up promptly when we had clarifying questions. Sadly, we could not buy that car because the dealer kept trying to tell us the wheel bearing noise Leander heard (and had experience with fixing on his own vehicle) was "normal" and the allegedly certified car was sold "as is", despite not meeting Toyota's own standard for certified vehicles (Leander even found part of the bumper was loose, which they did fix!). We would not have know this without Leander. Anyway, avoid Braintree Toyota, Wellesley Toyota looked into everything we asked them from Leander's report and fixed a minor interior issue for free.
After the first report, my husband, who has never bought a car before said how much easier Leander made the car buying process.
