The Sharma family from Meerut sought a cure for Mr. Awdesh Sharma's Liver Cirrhosis at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. His 20-year-old son, Utkarsh Sharma, explained that his father contracted the disease due to jaundice and had been undergoing treatment at various places for the past five years. The family received advice to consult experts at the Centre of Excellence for Digestive Diseases at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad.Mr. Sharma consulted with Dr. Bhaskar Nandi, Head, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, who then referred him to Solid Organ Transplantation and HPB Surgery team. The team of doctors suggested to undergo liver transplant, and thoroughly explained the procedure to Mr. Utkarsh Sharma, who volunteered to be the live donor. The surgery was performed by the Solid Organ Transplantation and HPB Surgery team, led by Dr. S. Sudhindran.

Following the successful surgery, the Sharmas expressed gratitude to the entire Amrita Hospital for saving Mr. Awdesh Sharma's s life and facilitating his recovery.
