Those nasty little bugs are back! They get their name because they feed on the grass blades and rapidly spread in search for food. Time is important with this infestation, once identified it needs to be treated immediately. The later in the season you get them the harder it is for your yard to recover. You can do a soap soak to check for infestation by mixing 2 oz. of Dawn dish soap with 2 gallons of water and spreading it in a 4 sqft. area, this will stimulate any armyworms to move to the surface after about 10 minutes. If you notice white moths the size of your thumbnail, an increased amount of birds feeding on the lawn, browning that is quickly spreading, or have even seen these, give us a call or email us at info@amazingbladeslandscaping.com. If you don't want to worry about damage we can do preventative treatment that should treat for up to 2 months weather permitting.
