🚨 Wipes kill pumps 🚨
Our team recently responded to an urgent call-out at a care home in Reading where a severe pump blockage was causing major disruption. Thanks to our rapid response, we were on-site quickly to investigate and clear the issue before it escalated further.
The cause? A heavy build-up of non-flushable wipes and hygiene products that had accumulated in the system and completely blocked the pumps.
While many wipes are marketed as “flushable”, they don’t break down like toilet paper and can quickly cause blockages in pumps, drains and sewer systems — especially in facilities like care homes where systems work hard every day.
