80 YEARS AGO: I waited until 7:55 to post this. It’s the exact time Pearl Harbor (Hawaii time) was attacked on December 7, 1941. 19 Navy ships and 8 battleships were in the harbor that morning. Could you imagine your morning at 7:55 being ripped apart by looking up and seeing another country’s planes flying overhead, and dropping bombs?
2,403 Americans were killed. 68 were civilians. We declared war on Japan the next day, and then on Germany on December 11 after they did so against the U.S. I honestly can’t imagine living through times like these.
Thank God for the people who did.
