šš„šæ What a crazy day on the job!
I repair underfloor radiant heating systems all the timeā¦ but this one was a first. A homeownerās son had been hearing strange noises under his floor. Turns out, an entire colony of bees had moved in!
They brought in a contractor to open the floor so a beekeeper could safely collect the hive. Unfortunately, the saw went a little too deep and sliced into the radiant heating pipes. That sent water spraying into the hive and created quite the mess.
By the time I arrived, the bees were gone, but the pipes were still leaking. I rolled up my sleeves, patched up the hydronic system, and got everything back in working order.
No two days in plumbing and heating are ever the sameāand sometimes the unexpected really keeps us on our toes!
