In our day and age, with the abundance of hi-tech options for getting a ride, it is easy enough to make the wrong decision. While it is true that Uber and its look-alikes have changed the landscape of riding on demand, it’s not the best option anymore.
The truth of the matter is, that the one big advantage they had over traditional taxi companies, which is price, is not an advantage anymore. Most taxi companies in Toronto and the GTA are offering flat rates for airport rides or other destinations. Uber and Lyft on the other hand set prices according to an algorithm that may triple the fare for reasons unknown to us mortals.
