Adventure Bound Rafting

Our Scout Troop had a great trip on a High Water Release weekend, and though the heavens opened with rain, John and his guides expertly provided expert-level navigation through the rapids. The guides were very flexible with pivoting activities on our second day due to the wet conditions, and our scouts participated at the High Ropes and indoor climbing instead of the rock climbing adventure. We were treated like valued guests, and appreciated the flexibility and skill of the staff.

We had a fabulous day on the Kennebec with Adventure Bound and our guide Beckham. The delivered perfect combination of flawlessly delivered logistics with a relaxed, smiling staff. The Kennebec gorge has exciting Class 3-4 rapids without the dangerous holes and places to avoid common to many stretches of whitewater, so it's possible to play in and out of the water on the way down. We tried everything! Adventure Bound works a lot with summer camps, schools and other groups, but we called and reserved a raft family and visiting relatives and enjoyed a perfect day on the water. We'll be back!

Safe, non-alcoholic, youth rafting company that will keep you entertained and busy all weekend. They are fairly priced and their guides have your safety and the safety of your kids on their minds. Game room, hot tub, climbing wall, experienced guides, foodservice for your trip, cabins, tent area, near the river. It is a great place for the family and friends.

A friend and I did a day of oar rig instruction with Scott Phair. We went over how to rig an oar raft, how to manage the craft through rapids with a focus on expedition style travel. Very fun and I look forward to practicing more in the future.

Adventure Bound was the perfect place to take our 8th graders on their class trip! The guides were all wonderful and well-trained to work with our young people on the river and the ropes course. The base was perfect for hanging-out, playing and relaxing after the day's activities. Our students had SO much fun, and will remember this experience for many years to come!!

One of my favorite places on earth. Best camping, hiking, and rafting one can ask for. Having spent 10 years at a sleepaway camp this place brings me back to those magical years.

Did a two days of rowing under the watchful eye and instructiion of Scott, phenomnal experince. Scott is a seasoned river runner snd patient insteuctor. Done a few river trips as a passanger but only rowed flat water before going out with Scott, who took me on for two days. It was a blast and i learned a ton, couodnt reccomend Scott and the AB crew more highly. Most importantly, Scott really got me feeling confident about hitting white water. For thise inteerested in this kind of thing, really reccomend you do two full river days to get the full experience and feel for it.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the staff at Adventure Bound exceeded our expectations. I was a part of a school group (29 people total) and every facilitator, guide, cook and front office worker were kind, friendly, patient, caring and truly wanted to make sure all of us had the best experience possible. I cannot thank them enough for the great trip.

Adventure Bound is the only Maine rafting company to focus on youth groups and to organize every part of the experience to be well suited to that population. I have been taking my school's outing club to Adventure Bound to raft the Dead and Kennebec Rivers for over 15 years. They have been awesome to us every time and we have never had a student regret joining us for this trip. Even in years that we have presented the group with other (non-rafting) options for our year end trip, we have gotten a resounding response from our returners that they want to go back to Adventure Bound. John, Emily, and all of their guides are awesome people. I can't recommend them more highly.
