Flat foot is a condition that has many subtleties. It is a deformity that presents itself in multiple planes. To often patients will get recommendations from people that don't have enough training to recognize all the aspects of a flat foot deformity. I have patients come in and they are told they pronate. After spending hundreds of dollars on shoes and inserts, a simple set of x rays reveals that they really supinate. Often a tight heel cord is missed as well. Ultimately a thorough Biomechanical exam with digital X rays and gait exam will help give a proper diagnosis. That diagnosis will then be used to develop a proper treatment to get you pain free. Come on in for an evaluation today.
