Dislocated toes can be often confused with other diagnosis of the foot. Often I will have a patient come in thinking that they have a foot Morton's neuroma and they have a partially or fully dislocated toe. Numbness of the toe can at times be from deformities of the toes or broken bones. Many times one will say how can i have a broken bone and still walk on my foot? The answer is that one broken bone or dislocated toe does not always render your foot useless. And it is possible to walk on them. If caught early these dislocations may be able to be put back in place in the office setting once the foot is numbed up. If left alone then the toe is stuck in the wrong position and then surgery is necessary to put it in the proper place.
