Above is a patient of ours that was treated elsewhere and ended up with the picture that you see on the left. Essentially a non functioning ankle in a significantly deformed position. This person was even told amputation was an option. As you can see the ankle is straight and no amputation (in the picture on the right) . We specialize in limb salvage and limb reconstruction. More often than not we can save the foot when an amputation is recommended. Dr Wrotslavsky is orthopedic fellowship trained in limb lengthening and lower limb reconstruction.
