Advanced Damp

My experience with Advanced Damp Ltd has been a very positive one from start to completion. My first interactions with Subana Akhtar in customer support revealed a warmth, professionalism, and care for the customer. I had an issue of penetrative damp in the bathroom of my basement flat. Advanced Damp Ltd sent their structural engineer, Paul Rowley, who was very approachable, very professional, and super knowledgeable. He was able to identify the areas of importance for treatment both internally and externally and offered additional suggestions not immediately required for the immediate issue. The damp-proofing technicians carried out their work very effectively, and I'm very pleased with the results. I was able to get an appointment much earlier than expected, which was great, but it meant I had two technicians start on separate days, one working internally and the other working externally. I believe this led to some confusion as to who was removing the waste and rubble. Although the work locations were effectively cleaned up and the waste was all contained, the bags were left on site. One phone call to Subana in customer support resolved the issue completely. Apologies were received, and she arranged for it all to be cleared first thing in the morning...and it was!!! Things can and do sometimes go wrong. A little disappointing? Yes, but for me, it's about how a company handles anything that arises. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work and the excellent service provided. I've found my go-to damproofers!!

The actual service was okay but communication was awful. So slow to reply to emails and seems to be no internal communication either, they called multiple times to tell me I needed to schedule my survey when it had already been scheduled and paid for. Worst of all, instead of giving the preliminary findings to me (the buyer) they instead shared the the seller and I had to wait two weeks to hear anything - so much for the report being confidential. I tried to raise this as an issue multiple times but received no response. If you value confidentiality and good communication, I definitely wouldn't recommend.

Quick to respond to my request about minor damp/mould in our bedroom, they recommended booking in (and paying for) a survey. The survey results arrived a couple of weeks later with a quote for many different bits of work to address damp issues. The costs in the quote were extremely high, even for very simple tasks.
