I have been working with Michael Hanson for several months. I had previously been to a different PT and made some progress towards resolving my hip and thigh pain issues. Although I didn't have pain while playing golf, the issues were worse the day after golf. Michael's approach has helped to target the issues and strengthen the muscles involved. My flexibility has greatly improved as well. I've gone from extreme pain rolling over at night to pain free with occasional soreness as I continue to return to normal strength and mobility. I highly recommend Michael Hanson.

I just finished my final session with Michael. Best advice I can give is pull the trigger. I’m 26 and was dealing with horrible lower back pain for over 2 years after an accident. I did PT for my accident too, and that band-aid only lasted so long. Micheal was able to really tell me and explain to me what was going on. I am an avid gym goer and he really helped me get to where I can properly lift again. I was having pain deadlifting, squats, lunges, even yoga. I couldn’t even stand for a long period of time without my back aching. Micheal helped me work through all of that. I feel confident going back to the gym and being active again. What I love most is compared to a regular PT office, Micheal keeps in mind your level of fitness and adjusts to what works for you and what needs to work for you. I was afraid to go back to physical therapy, thought it was a waste of money, but having someone like Micheal really changed my mind. Highly recommend.

Over the past 10 years I have been to 3 or 4 of the major Physical Therapy companies in the Greenville area, none have ever really understood how to help. They simply don’t normally work on current or former athlete’s. Michael on the other hand, is fantastic, he is the ONLY person to ever be able to fix my shoulder pain from decades of weightlifting and exercise. I can lift again, sleep without pain in my shoulders. He is a beyond amazing! Thank you Michael

I had the worst shoulder pain whenever I was benching or doing shoulder exercises which led me to Active Physical Therapy. Michael diagnosed my condition right away and formulated a detailed exercise plan to fix the underlying problem. Within 6 weeks my pain was gone and not only that, he taught me proper form and technique for the workouts I was doing incorrectly all along. Michael is super friendly and knowledgeable. Since then I have been hitting my personal best in all areas of my weight lifting! HIghly highly recommend. Best PT ever!

Great experience with Michael! I moved to Greenville about 12 weeks after my shoulder surgery and was looking for more PT to help me get back to rock climbing. Did 8 visits with Michael over ~3 months and he was awesome and knowledgeable both about the exercises we did and helping me get back into my sport safely. Both my shoulders are feeling very strong and I’m starting to hit some of the goals I had laid out for December while it’s still Summer. Thanks Michael!

Michael has been incredibly helpful and patient during our sessions, but he has also empowered me to take an active approach in my physical therapy. He listens attentively to my feedback and provides guidance for continued improvement. Would highly recommend!

It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Michael! For years I had put off PT after not finding a therapist who resonated with my needs. When it comes to healthcare providers— I’m immensely picky. Being of mom of 5 children…. time has to count and my time spent with Michael has not been wasted. From the very beginning, he was incredibly knowledgeable and got right into my issues with Degenerative Disc Disease, autoimmune issues, etc. He never failed to show up with the best attitude and game plan. I am so grateful for what he’s helped me accomplish! I feel so much better! Migraines are gone, neck pain— gone. I believe in myself more, I know my form is correct because of his teachings. I know I have someone to call if I need help in this realm, and have gained a wonderful friend in the process. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone in need of PT! He’s the best of the best! I still can’t believe how much he understands and the intuitive nature of his techniques! Great person, amazing PT! Thank you, Michael! Our family appreciates you so much!

Met Michael when he did a workshop in my dojo and was having some hip joint issues. He showed me some exercises I still use to this day! Also went to see him after I sprained my ankle and he helped me notice my muscle imbalance from working out and correct everything. He broke it down step by step and worked with me all the way! Definitely recommend👍

I worked with four PTs with little success before finding Michael. He was quickly able to holistically review my situation and identify some key problems related to my shoulder pain and back tightness. With targeted stretching, strength training and movement re-learning exercises, I made more progress in three months than I thought possible. Michael is very personable, knowledgeable and eager to help you make progress towards your goals. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I was in a bad dirtbike accident in May of 2024. I broke my rt shoulder and it had to be surgically repaired, separated my left shoulder resulting in a partial torn rotator cuff and bicep accompanied by 4-5 rib fractures. I started ATP with Micheal Hansen in July of that yr. I chose to go with him over the traditional pt I was already doing because of his commitment to get me back to the active lifestyle I was accustomed too. What a great decision!! The therapist I was working with was good but her goals were just to get me functional and like traditional hospital based therapy it wasn’t progressive or forced enough on me. Michael’s professional and scientific based plan was more in line with my goals. His assessment of what’s going on with you and what you need to get where you want are spot on. I’m sure everyone’s results will very by attitude and commitment and mine could be better. But I did go from not being able to bench a piece of pvc pipe after the accident to 185lb on incline bench. That’s not Herculean weight but it felt good to get some resemblance of where I was. I would highly recommend Micheal and APT to anyone that wants to get back to there original selves.
