Active Heating and Renewables

I was initially nervous about installing a heat pump in my terraced house, particularly concerned about the 10mm pipes to radiators and limited space. Active Renewables completely put my mind at ease. From the first consultation, they were incredibly understanding of all my concerns and took the time to walk me through every aspect of the installation process. Their staff were extremely helpful and remarkably fast to respond to all my questions - no matter how technical. The team's knowledge was outstanding. They expertly handled the technical challenges and delivered exceptional results - achieving an impressive 4.30 SCOP while keeping the house consistently at 21°C year-round. I also wanted constant monitoring capabilities, and they went above and beyond to fully install and help me diagnose some initial issues with OpenEnergyMonitor. Tom & team did a great job installing our air source heat pump. A challenging site with non standard installation, and so far it is performing very well. A slight issue with noise has been rectified by the addition of rubber vibration mounts and the system keeps the house at a good temperature even during the recent cold-snap. Tom has continued to be helpful for advice on fine-tuning the system and optimising performance long after initial installation. Would recommend

Fantastic Service - Highly Recommend I couldn't recommend Tom & the Active team any higher. We had an unexpected boiler breakdown, late over the bank holiday weekend... reached out to Active Heating on their website enquiry form & Tom came straight back that evening within 30m to discuss the works. He managed to fit us in on the Tuesday for a replacemnet boiler installation, providing great advice on specification & size (kW) of boiler. His team were great, Tommy arrived promptly at half 8 and worked late to ensure the new boiler installation was all completed properly, including arranging Cadent gas engineer to visit & ensure that the regulator was working correctly for correct supply. We have great peace of mind now with the new boiler & extended warranty. Cannot thank the team enough & would recommend their services to anyone in the area. many thanks Michael

New Vaillant heat pump and tank installed. The very accurate pre install survey by Tom means we have exactly the right size heat pump to keep the house warm as economically as possible. Jay and Chris did a great job on the works and they were a pleasure to have around. Recommended.

I had a great experience with Tom and his team. I was undertaking an extensive renovation of my house with an extension and AHR were helpful firstly in helping me understand how to go about transferring my house to an air source heat pump. They helped me understand the options and then effectively delivered an updated heating system for my 1950s property, including installing the air source heat pump, underfloor heating, water cylinder, water booster, and new pipes and radiators where needed. They worked alongside my builders, who they had not worked with before. My house is now very comfortable and affordable to heat. AHR we're very response to my regular questions and check ins and flexible to my needs. They showed an expert understanding of heat pump systems, I understand they are now regularly installing them. I found ASP via the Heat Geeks website, which I also recommend for anyone considering a heat pump.

Connor and Tommy came over and did a great job upgrading our very outdated system. They also swapped out our seized inside stop valve for an easier more modern one too which was great. All of the pipework was cut and reconnected out of the way so now we have loads of extra usable space! The guys were friendly, respectful and left their workspace clean and tidy. Our central heating was old and no longer heating the house properly. After visiting and carrying out a survey of our property, Tom recommended a new boiler and radiators to replace the old ones. The team from Active installed the new system over the course of a week, and they were brilliant - the work is of the highest standard and the guys went above and beyond, even modifying our kitchen units to make the boiler fit. Once the installation was complete, they showed me how to operate the new boiler clearly and left everything in working order, clean and tidy. We now have central heating that warms the whole house for the first time in years. I will certainly be using Active again in the future.

I highly recommend Active- I contacted them with an urgent issue needing a boiler service and our hot water and heating systems pressure testing for our house sale. They had a knowledgeable and friendly engineer with me quickly to help. They did everything I needed and spent as much time as required to do the job properly without feeling like they were needing to rush off to the next job. Active would definitely be my top plumbing and heating recommendation in the area!
