Montana and Wyoming are two states out of many that are prone to wildfires. Our summers can be hot and dry, and thunderstorms are common. Lightning strikes and turbulent winds combine to burn millions of acres, thousands of homes, and hundreds of businesses every year. Because of this, the US Forest Service created the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) Code. This Code is designed to reduce the spread of wildfire by evaluating and specifying the use of building products for residential and commercial properties.
