I filed a claim with my home warranty, Select Home Warranty, and they listed A Plus Electric Service as my repair technician. Once the service was complete, I paid my 65.00 service fee and assumed all services were complete. Within 10 minutes, Mr. Smith was calling me back to state that he was headed back to my house to re-charge my card for a 100.00 labor fee as this was not covered per my home warranty company. I was in disbelief. I'm not sure if this invoice was written correctly or where the writing on the wall lie, but I've had 2 other repairs within my home for appliances, and no labor fee was incurred. I had to charge this additional fee on a charge card as I did not have the funds. A 65.00 job turned into a 165.00 job. As I stated to Mr. Smith, had I known that, I would not have filed a claim but rather YouTubed it and did it myself. Rest assured, the next time I will. Although my light is working, please be mindful of all costs. This additional fee took away from my grocery shopping for me and my kids. Per the warranty company, they paid Mr. Smith the diagnostic fee and costs for parts so in order for Mr. Smith to get additional money he charging labor cause he knows these warranty companies aren't covering for labor. A 100.00 labor fee for a light switch. Ridiculous!!!!!!!! What a way to get over on customers!!!!!!
S/N: Before Mr. Smith left my home the first time, he asked if he could use my bathroom and I obliged. Had I known that he'd be returning within minutes to charge me an additional 100.00 fee, he would've needed to find him another bathroom.
