Patrick and his team have done a fantastic job with both our condominium building AND our own kitchen remodel. Rates were extremely fair, and Patrick goes out of his way to make sure we were 100% satisfied. We now have the best building on the block and an amazing kitchen!

This review is long overdue. We hired Patrick and his team (John, Bill, and Benny) with Skilled Construction to remodel our kitchen, two full bathrooms, a laundry room, and a half bath. Remodeling lasted about four months over the holidays last year. This was a major remodeling project as our kitchen and bathrooms were 22 years old and in dire need of updating and upgrading. We shopped around for estimates with a total of four general contractors, including Skilled Construction. Patrick’s estimate was right in the middle, and we appreciated that he took the time to answer questions, even during the estimation process. As a general contractor, Patrick, handled the hiring of subcontractors for certain aspects of the remodeling that his primary team didn’t handled. Overall, we are very happy with Patrick and his team. As with any major remodeling project, there are unforeseen issues that pop up throughout the process. Patrick will answer questions and does strive to make things right with a few of the issues that were discovered. Patrick’s team, primarily John, handled all the electrical work. We did the remodeling project with permits, so it was important that the work met with local code requirements and passed our city’s building inspections. In hindsight, there are a couple of things with the remodeling that we wish were done differently, but it doesn’t change our overall satisfaction. We would absolutely hire Patrick and his team again for any future projects. As a general contractor, Patrick, was responsible for scheduling and lining up these subcontractors. We were only unhappy with a couple of subcontractors, but many were exceptional in their service and quality of work. • Asbestos Abatement: Once completed, the “down to the studs” rooms were clean of any and all debris. • Tile Team: David was part of a two man crew who came and tiled the floors of our kitchen, half bath, foyer, and both bathrooms. David’s tile work was perfection. He made great suggestions on the tile layout in our kitchen and foyer. He and his crew member (unfortunately, I don’t remember his name) had a system down pat. Both were here early in the morning after driving 90 minutes to get to our home each day. We were very impressed with this two-man tiling team and would use them again for any tiling project. Absolutely make sure that Patrick uses this team when doing your tile work! • Shower Door Installation: We opted for custom frameless shower doors. Working with the sales and install teams went very smoothly and efficiently. We were very impressed with how the doors turned out in both bathrooms. • Bathtub Refinishing: This was an outside vendor doing a one-day project. Cleaned our bathtub with an acid washed and followed with a refinishing. The bathtub looked brand new. • Painters: For the majority of the remodel, it was Patrick’s team that did the painting. We were pleased with the team’s work and attention to detail. However, we did have a two man team that came to paint the new doors that we replaced throughout the house. They did great work and managed to get a makeshift enclosure set up, so the painting could be done even when it was raining outside. • Drywall Team: These subcontractors did not impress us at all. There were a couple of issues with access points for electrical and plumbing that were boarded up. The team that did the drywall mud were a bit sloppy in their work and Patrick had them come out to get some areas redone. • Cabinet Installation: We purchased expensive custom cabinets through a home design store. While the end result of the cabinet install worked out the way we wanted things to look, getting there was another story. The installers was a two man team and clearly only use to installing prefabricated cabinetry. We know this because I spoke with the installers and another issue was communication. My kitchen designer came over to explain the diagrams, measurements, and layout of the cabinets. There were still issues and one of Patrick’s crew had to supervise the install to ensure things were done right.
