We moved into a brand-new, custom-built home in Frisco last May and initially put in basic, inexpensive blinds just to get settled. It didn’t take long to realize we wanted something much nicer and more decorative throughout the house.
We started getting quotes, and the first couple of companies were honestly outrageous. Slick Blinds was probably the third company we called. They were well reviewed, came out quickly, and their pricing was significantly better. I’ll admit, that initially made me wonder about quality—but those concerns disappeared fast.
Their team brought samples, talked through design options, and actually listened to what we wanted. No pressure, no sales pitch—just good guidance. Since then, we’ve done multiple projects with Slick Blinds, and every one turned out great:
• Automatic roller shades with drapes in our master bedroom
• Remote-controlled blackout black zebra shades in our upstairs family room
• A guest bedroom we wanted to feel luxury-level—it turned out perfect
• In my home office, they removed a black roller shade I had installed myself and replaced it with the same remote-controlled black zebra shades that match the family room. Big upgrade, and it looks fantastic.
They also solved a tough problem in our main living area. We have four very high, west-facing windows with nearly 30-foot ceilings. We tried 3M window film from another company and weren’t happy with it. Slick Blinds recommended solar-powered, remote-controlled roller shades, helped us choose the right color, and nailed the install. They look great, work perfectly, and we’ll never have to mess with batteries.
We were so confident in them by that point that we also worked with Slick Blinds on our huge four-panel sliding glass door. We ended up going with Hunter Douglas Pirouette automatic vertical shades. Hunter Douglas is known for being high-end, and Slick Blinds delivered that solution at a very fair price. The install was flawless, and they look amazing.
What really impressed me, though, was how they handled issues when things didn’t go perfectly—which happens on big projects. They accepted feedback professionally, fixed problems quickly, and never made excuses. The owner personally stepped in more than once to make sure we were happy, and in the end, even refused payment on part of a job because of the inconvenience we experienced. That kind of integrity is rare.
Bottom line: great quality, excellent customer service, and pricing that blows away competitors who were quoting nearly three times as much. While they may not have the absolute largest selection compared to the most expensive vendors, they had everything we needed to fully outfit a 5,000-square-foot home—and we’re completely satisfied.
If you’re in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, or nearby, I’d absolutely recommend starting with Slick Blinds. Chances are, you won’t need to look anywhere else.
