Jones Robbins Tobin were the architects on our (one and only) new build project.  Kingsley Court was designed to a specific brief, in a setting that had to complement an existing large country house, while combining contemporary elements with greenish credentials.  Throughout the process JRT demonstrated impressive discipline and rigour, being faithful to the design principles, with a pragmatic approach to both the planning and construction phases.  The end result is perfectly fit-for-purpose, mixing wow moments with touches of traditional Scottish materials that capture our identities and heritage.   The journey would not have been possible without JRT's passion, attention to detail, knowledge and expertise.

We moved into a very traditional 1800s farmhouse a few years ago which we have been, to the most part, doing up ourselves, aiming to keep the traditional nature of the house but make it into a more comfortable and space efficient family home. As part of this we wished to create a new bedroom by combining several large cupboards, an en suite, and reducing the size of a large spare room. We also wished to install a window through the traditional thick stone walls without it looking “new”. For this project we needed professional help. Jones Robbins Tobin helped us to make our vision into reality. They were not daunted by the “quirks” that came with the age of the house and were respectful of our wishes and seemed to understand our vague descriptions and put them onto paper with ease. They were everything I would look for in an architect: knowledgable, fair of price, quick and clear with communication, approachable, and most importantly they felt genuinely interested in the task ahead. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone that asked.

Our project involved the renovation of an existing country house and out-buildings, with the addition of a substantial extension, to create a dream family home. Gareth was instrumental in providing a clear aesthetic architectural vision for the project, from the overall appearance down to the fine detail. He listened closely to our ideas and thoughts on how we wanted to use the space and he made innovative and creative suggestions. He worked closely with all of the trades connected with the job to ensure a high standard of finish. This attention to detail and commitment to the project added up to create a stylish family home that flows and functions exactly how we need it to. We are absolutely delighted with our house.

I have known Jones Robbins Tobin since 2019 and the first time I met them, their generosity and talent was clear. Not only do they deeply care for their craft but they give 110%. After living in our house for a year we began to tentatively talk about the tweaks we would make for it to become our forever home. After speaking with JRT about our desires to modify the house to enjoy both indoor and outdoor living they came up with a number of different concepts. Collaboration, teamwork and communication were at the heart of every discussion and decision. We felt listened to and understood. Due to the beautiful craftsmanship and wonderful team delivering the renovation, elements of the project evolved with us ultimately living in a renovation for over 2.5 years. JRT were with us every step of the way, providing encouragement, reassurance and laughter even when at times it felt like we’d never be finished! We could not have got through this extensive project without their attentive and calming presence. Our renovated house and garden bring us so much joy, along with the seamless indoor outdoor living we desired - when the British weather plays ball!
