Jones Robbins Tobin Architects

Jones Robbins Tobin were the architects on our (one and only) new build project.  Kingsley Court was designed to a specific brief, in a setting that had to complement an existing large country house, while combining contemporary elements with greenish credentials.  Throughout the process JRT demonstrated impressive discipline and rigour, being faithful to the design principles, with a pragmatic approach to both the planning and construction phases.  The end result is perfectly fit-for-purpose, mixing wow moments with touches of traditional Scottish materials that capture our identities and heritage.   The journey would not have been possible without JRT's passion, attention to detail, knowledge and expertise.

We moved into a very traditional 1800s farmhouse a few years ago which we have been, to the most part, doing up ourselves, aiming to keep the traditional nature of the house but make it into a more comfortable and space efficient family home. As part of this we wished to create a new bedroom by combining several large cupboards, an en suite, and reducing the size of a large spare room. We also wished to install a window through the traditional thick stone walls without it looking “new”. For this project we needed professional help. Jones Robbins Tobin helped us to make our vision into reality. They were not daunted by the “quirks” that came with the age of the house and were respectful of our wishes and seemed to understand our vague descriptions and put them onto paper with ease. They were everything I would look for in an architect: knowledgable, fair of price, quick and clear with communication, approachable, and most importantly they felt genuinely interested in the task ahead. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone that asked.
