The Grinnellian Bed & Breakfast

I found the Grinnellian by Googling b&bs within about an hour from where I live. I love how all the rooms have a British Isles theme. I immediately booked the Innisfree (Irish) room for Valentine’s Day. The six guest rooms are all on the second floor in a circle around a comfortable common sitting area. I appreciated the attention to detail: makeup towel and remover, face masks and other complimentary cosmetics. There are games, books and movies available too. I liked the goodie bag in our room, particularly the locally sourced honey. Our Valentine’s stay included champagne and cookies. Evan, the innkeeper, is very personable and puts on a nice breakfast. I appreciated getting to see the other rooms at check out time. Our stay was relaxing and an excellent value. Easy walking distance to local attractions. We will be back.

I had the chance to stay at the Grinnellian last weekend. My room was cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect and practical. The breakfast was delicious and delightful. The company of the other families was friendly and fabulous. The care and attention from the owners was awesome and amazing. I am sad that my visits to Grinnell are coming to an end as my son is graduating in May. I strongly suggest that you book your stay. This is a true gem in the prairie!!!
