Three months to the day I adopted Sadie Bug from a local shelter. She had been neglected, abandoned, and just had a litter of puppies. She was only a puppy herself but when I got her home I realized she suffered from separation anxiety, was not housebroken, darted out the front door and generally lacked in obedience. I came across Avi’s business card and saw he specialized in shelter pups. One of the best calls I could have made. He came to the house and instantly won Sadie’s affection. As advertised he is affordable, compassionate, calm and incredibly knowledgeable. He taught me how to teach her what she needs to get along with the cats, sleep through the night, to be housebroken and generally listen and comply with my directions. After five sessions Sadie is a different dog and I will continue to use all of the techniques and insight Avi has taught me. He is an extremely intuitive trainer and thoroughly understands dogs. I’m so grateful to have found him. I highly recommend his services to any and all dog owners. By the way, after each session he sends a detailed summary of what was covered to review and simplify the process.

I started looking for a trainer because we have been wanting to add a new member to our pack of two. We have two sweet boys but they have been reactive to other dogs and people and we wanted to make sure we do things right to create a calm and peaceful environment for everyone in the household. What makes Avi different is that he sees dogs as individuals and he recognizes their history and personalities. Unlike most trainers, where they do constant obedience training and slap on a cookie cutter approach, Avi takes the time to understand each dog and does the work that builds their confidence and trust from within. After just our first session with Avi, we gained so much more understanding about our boys and their behaviors. The tools Avi taught us stem from a humane approach that build long term results. The work that we do inside our house and truly translate to how our boys behave outside of the house. I never wanted to “suppress” our dogs’ personalities but I wanted them to feel confident in that “mom and dad’s got this, we here to protect so you can take a step back.” He has helped us teach our dogs more about the world and allow them to be more balanced and confident. Avi has also been kind enough to help facilitate the intake of our new dog from the shelter and he will continue to help us and our family as we introduce a new member to our pack. He is passionate about what he does and he is very kind, calm, patient and understanding with us and our boys. We feel so blessed that we found him!
