On Jan. 10, we dropped off our 2 dogs at Barala Kennels for a week. The dogs were to share a kennel and we brought their beds. We met with Sarah and told her the feeding schedule and that our dogs asked to go outside to do their business. We found the kennel quite tight for 2 dogs.
When we picked them up a week later on the 18th during the blizzard, both dogs were subdued. The small dog's white feet were an orangey yellow, odd as she had been groomed on the Thursday before.
Their white towel was the colour the dog's feet. One bed was stained yellow, plus very dirty. The other bed was soaked with urine and very wet on the bottom. There was dog food in their beds. Both dogs smelled very bad.
It seems our dogs did not have easy access to their run and likely had no one there to ask. My question is: How can you feed 2 dogs 3 x's a day and not notice they were laying in and smelled like urine.
When we called the kennel, the report from Meadow was very positive, all sweetness and wonderful.
We will NEVER use this kennel again. They never got outside in the snow or fresh air for an entire week.
