In my opinion, it is essential to have the utmost trust not just in the expertise of your agent, but also in his or her character. Throughout the entire process of buying our home, Tim blew us away with his attentiveness, patience, and expert advice. As would be expected, we had a ton of questions about both the process and potential listings we were interested in. Tim always gave answers and advice that clearly showed his singular focus was on helping us find the right home, and not just trying to get a deal done. He has the knowledge and experience to bring an objective and calm perspective to what is otherwise a tense and emotional process for buyers. We never felt he was pushing us when it came to making important decisions (whether or not to submit an offer, how much to offer, and even whether or not to counter, when that situation arose for us). Even without any pressure, we trusted his opinions and that made the decisions come a lot easier. On a final note, I always wondered how important the agent's reputation was when it came down to submitting an offer. Every listing agent knew of Tim and had only great things to say about him. This includes the listing agent of the home for which our offer was accepted, and I have no doubt that Tim's representation helped us against a VERY close competing offer. My spouse and I had such a positive experience with Tim as our real estate agent and still think about him fondly years later! From the get go, Tim was a genuinely nice guy with a sense of humor that jived well with mine, making our house touring adventures a lot of fun. Tim started off by showing us a broad variety of homes fitting our desired parameters, and then listening attentively as we gave him feedback about our likes and dislikes. He was able to get a sense very quickly of just the sort of homes we were looking for, and then was able to narrow down our search to only homes we were sure to like. Because of the nuances of the current market, and how specific we were about the neighborhood/type of home we wanted, the whole process from starting our search to closing escrow took almost a year. Along the way were a couple instances of being outbid and a short sale not working out as we'd wanted, and all throughout Tim walked us through the processes, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, and constantly worked with our best interests in mind. He was super accommodating to my crazy work schedule, making time for us even in the late evening sometimes, and was very very responsive to his emails. So responsive that I wonder if he ever stops working! Tim stayed patient and cheerful, never once telling us to change our priorities or settle for something that wasn't exactly what we were looking for. And when the right house came on the market, Tim worked aggressively to make sure we got it. Even after we moved in, Tim continued to be helpful; recommending the contractor that we used for a major renovation. Thanks Tim!
