UPDATE ON REVIEW: Thumbtack looked into everything and ended up refunding me, which honestly says it all. Look at the photo below. This is exactly what happens when a company tells you your setup is fine based on a picture, shows up, and then decides in under three minutes that they can’t do the job. They claimed the dishwasher wouldn’t fit, then tried to quote me almost $1000 to install it. Meanwhile I had that exact same dishwasher installed that same week for $400 somewhere else. Make it make sense. Thought it was the wrong size? Like I said, scammers. Beware. I had a very disappointing and misleading experience with this company. Before booking, I sent clear photos of the dishwasher issue and was told the job could be completed for $189 and that the $60 consultation fee would go toward that total. I made it clear I was on a strict budget, and they reassured me multiple times that everything “checked out” and the technician would be prepared. When the technician arrived, he told me within minutes that he couldn’t do the job at all unless I cut into the wall — something I was never told despite sending photos ahead of time and confirming the details. He then still expected me to pay the $60 even though the consultation didn’t provide any solution, guidance, or accurate assessment. It was a complete waste of time. I reached out to the scheduler/manager to resolve this, and despite explaining that I was misled and received zero value from the visit, they were insistent on not refunding me. They acknowledged the person I spoke to was only a scheduler, yet at no point was I told I wasn’t speaking directly to the technician. The technician being “family” or having past five-star reviews doesn’t change the fact that the information I received beforehand was wrong. This entire situation caused unnecessary stress, took up my whole day, and could have been avoided if they had been honest from the beginning. I do not recommend this company to anyone who needs transparent pricing, accurate assessments, or basic professionalism.
