Index is a lovely little town on the way to Stevens Pass, and appears to attract both rock climbers and river rafters. North Fork Kitchen turned out to be a terrific post-rafting destination for our group.
Located in the Bush House Inn, a beautifully restored historic hotel, North Fork provides a small-ish menu of well curated selections for hotel guests and visitors to the town.
We were lucky enough to visit on a beautiful day, when dining on the porch outside the hotel was an option. There was a wedding related function going on inside, and the staff was able to provide us with attentive service, even though they had lots of things going on inside.
Our group sampled an assortment of offerings - salad, flat bread, a burger, and chimmichurri skirt steak. Everyone was happy, enjoying the food, the view, and the drink options. Anything involving potatoes, whether fried or roasted, was particularly good.
