Just some honest feedback on my experience at Breakout escape rooms.
We arrived early and were offered to start our room early which was fine, once taken to our room there was no instructions given other than read a piece of paper and then your one hour starts. Having done many escape rooms I found this odd but was confident I could work out most things in the room.
As we begun our first clue I noticed there was a post it note on the table, which has come numbers written on it. These numbers were left over from the last group and gave the answers to two of the locks. The room obviously wasn’t reset well and there was adequate time as we started 20 minutes early at the hosts request.
The state of the room was appalling, there are holes throughout the rooms and thumbtacks all over the floor from posters that were supposed to be stuck on the walls. The tasks were basic but fine, but the clues and props were well below average. One task required using a laminated sheet as a guide and the sheet was so crumpled it was difficult to read what the clue even was. The props were old and partially destroyed ( gems with colours on the, paper instructions).
The room comes with unlimited clues, but the host is not responsive often taking a long time to reply or not answering the questions clearly.
There was another room going at the same time as ours and the level of banging, yelling and screaming we could hear for at least half of the time in the room was concerning. I have never heard this level of noise in any other escape room.
For the price this room is well below other in the market and by far the worst I have ever completed. If I could be bothered arguing I would be asking for a partial refund.
