Steve owner of Appel Hardscape does an absolute amazing job. When we were looking to have a retaining wall built, we got multiple estimates. Steve’s estimate actually came in lower than everyone else. I was a little reluctant to say the least because sometimes when you go with the least expensive, the quality of work is not the best. But in this situation, I am so thankful that we chose Appel Hardscape. Our wall is absolutely beautiful. The quality is perfect and Steve was such an amazing guy to work with. We were on a time crunch as we were having a memorial birthday party for our son and somehow Steve pulled it off. I cannot say anything but amazing things about him and his company. Any hardscaping that we need done in the future will always be done by Appel Hardscape.

Steve did an amazing job on our project. He is very detail oriented , meticulous and courteous with a great sense of humor and a sense of calmness that I love. He installed a beautiful paver patio with two long walkways for us, and added great design ideas. Steve is also quite knowledgeable and professional with Outdoor Living Spaces. He constructed a beautiful Pergola for us on our new patio, and solved any issues that came up with aplomb. Steve didn’t leave the project until totally done! He maintains the area painstakingly perfect!! I can’t recommend Steve & Raffie enough, you will not be sorry!!

Appel Hardscape was recommended to us by our electrician. We wanted a 10x11 hardscape patio and a path to our gazebo. . We had contacted another company, but they had a vacation coming up and couldn’t do it for months. I called Steve, he told me that he would come and look at the job. He told me that he would call on Friday. I was stunned, he called on Friday!! That is very unusual in today’s world. He came and assessed the situation, measured and checked for the slope and runoff. The area is fenced and he even checked to see how square the fence is. He talked to us about runoff and how he would keep the water away from the building. He explained every step that he would be doing. My husband is not easily impressed, but he talked about how thorough Steve was all weekend. He was knowledgeable, pleasant and easy to talk to. They told us that they would come at 6:15 am Tuesday. It stormed the night before. I never expected to see them. My husband went outside and they had already started excavating the area. We had already picked out pavers. We had told Steve that we just lost our dog, so he showed me how Drohan Brick could engrave a paver with our dogs name and a paw print!!! I jumped on that idea and Steve and I surprised my husband with it!! That is just one way that Steve Appel shows attention to detail!! Steve said three days for the job and he was on the dot!! I haven’t seen anyone with that much care, planning, and attention to detail since I watched my dad when I was a small child. You can tell that they operate with old fashioned values. Someone really taught them well. It shows that he and Javi love what they do and are dedicated to their profession. If you have the need for hard scaping, please make sure that you take my advice and contact Steve Appel. You definitely will not regret your decision. Just show him what you want and let his expertise give you the most incredible project that will be way beyond your expectations. You do not need to “babysit” them. They will get it done right.

I was given the name and number of Appel Hardscapes after needing part of my patio redone. The work and attention to detail was top notch and Steve has added accent lights to both my front and back yard providing security and a warm ambiance. I am so happy to have been given his contact information and would highly recommend him.

Appel Hardscapes is an extraordinary business. The owner, Steve Appel, could not be more pleasant to work with and he brought such expertise to our project that we always felt confident that the results would be very good but, in fact, they surpassed our expectations. Steve listened carefully to our vision of completely remaking the outside of the house we had just bought. Much of the area was in disrepair and, as we conveyed our ideas, he was able to help us with what was possible. We relied heavily on him for recommendations of which pathing materials would be best and he was always sure to present us with the affordability of the different options. The finished outcome is fabulous. Where there was a mess of broken concrete there is now an elegant and serene paved walkway and, one level up, is now a splendid brick courtyard. Every inch is immaculately done, the workmanship is superb. When Steve starts your project he guarantees that he will be there until the work is done. We give Appel Hardscapes our highest and sincere recommendation.

Steve took out my old brick walkway and installed much nicer pavers. I also asked him to cover my front porch with the same material. He did a great job in a timely manner and the quality was excellent. At the end of the project I asked him to come back for something I added on and he took care of it. I would highly recommend him.

He quickly responded to my request for a quote when other companies were difficult to reach or took weeks to respond. His price was very reasonable.
