I first saw Solar up’s $1 a day battery ad on social media, and honestly, I didn’t believe it. It sounded too good to be true. We already had a 6.6kW solar system at home, but we were still paying more than $700 per quarter on electricity, so I had been thinking for a while about whether installing a battery would finally make a real difference. A few of my neighbours had already installed batteries and their power bills had dropped a lot, which made me seriously consider it.
I decided to give SolarUp a call just to see if the offer was actually real. Their customer service team answered quickly, asked detailed questions about our electricity usage and bills, and booked a home visit for the following Monday.
Their specialist arrived on time, and the site assessment only took about 10 minutes. He was professional, clear, and gave me a battery solution that actually made sense for our home. He confirmed that we could install 4 batteries for a total of 54.5kWh, and then told me the installation could be done just 3 days later.
That was the part that really surprised me. You know, I have talked to other solar and battery companies, and it take months to get electricians out for battery installation, so having everything arranged and installed within 3 days was incredibly impressive.
On installation day, a team of 3 electricians arrived at 8am and worked efficiently all day. By the afternoon, everything was completed and the battery system was already running. The whole process was smooth and professional. What I also really appreciated was that they cleaned up the backyard afterwards and took all the rubbish away with them, which was such a thoughtful touch.
So far, I’m very happy with the experience. I’m now looking forward to seeing next bill to drop, and I’ll come back to update this review once the bill come to me. But one thing I will say is that the $1 a day offer is real, there were no hidden fees at all, which I really appreciated.
I would definitely recommend Solar up to anyone who is tired of rising electricity bills every year and is thinking about getting a battery.
