On March 8th 2024, I was exercising my First Amendment right to express dissent against genocide in Palestine in a public park, not in the way of anyone. I was subsequently arrested and traumatized as my partner was needlessly brutalized.
Sean McGuire was assigned to my case and shared the same empathy of humanity as I did, and expressed so through the fight for my case. My trial was on Election Day. Before and through the trial, Mr. McGuire was direct and supportive every step of the way. I have been to many trials and seen many people's experiences with the quite frankly unjust justice system as a social worker and as a daughter of war refugees who I saw struggle through the courts for seeking a better life. In all I've seen, I can confidently say Mr. McGuire has been the most dedicated champion of the people I've ever had the fortunate of coming across.
Even after my trial there were some administrative/follow up tasks that he so kindly helped me with. Mr. McGuire, it is an honor and a privilege to know you and have had your support. Thank you, sincerely. Anyone who has you as their defender is in safe, supportive hands.
