From the day of its founding on March 16, 1992 as the LINXX Academy, it has grown in size and stature, but remains committed to the task of providing students with the most practical and effective self-defense skills, rooted in the principles of ethical-moral development. My grandson has always wanted to try Jiu-Jitsu, so I called several locations. Most only offered one free session, but Gracie Jiu-Jitsu stood out by giving two weeks free to make sure it was the right fit. From the very first class, my grandson was hooked—he couldn’t wait to join and get his gi!
The sensei is truly outstanding. He works with all the kids individually, teaching not only Jiu-Jitsu techniques but also discipline, respect, and focus. The incentive system keeps the kids motivated, and the positive atmosphere is incredible. When my grandson earned his very first stripe, I was touched to see every student celebrate and congratulate him—it really felt like a family.
He’s already making new friends, growing in confidence, and couldn’t be happier. I can’t recommend Gracie Jiu-Jitsu enough for anyone looking for a safe, encouraging, and inspiring place for their child to train.

I have two grandchildren who are enrolled at your Virginia Beach site. I live out of state but I always make a point of visiting them while they do their jiu-jitsu training. The Virginia Beach site is very clean and instructors are very professional. We feel confident with our children attending. Would recommend to anyone looking for this type of training.
