I mistakenly took my meds twice in one day. I was referred to the Poison Control Center by my insurance's nurse's line. The person who helped me was very kind and professional. She patiently went through the list of my medications with me and shared potential side effects of an overdose for each one. Once we were assured that I was not in imminent danger, she encouraged me to reach out to my physician for further review moving forward. I really appreciate that this service was here to help me!

I had used GermX on my hands after changing some bandages on my husband. I must have still had bit left on a fingernail, which found its way into my mouth. I quickly brushed my teeth and tongue, but the taste was still strong. I read the warning on the back of the GermX bottle that said to seek help if any was swallowed. I didn’t think I’d swallowed it, but decided to call the Poison Control Center for my own peace of mind. The person who answered was calm and pleasant as he asked me questions. I was relieved to know that I was not in danger, though the taste could stick around for awhile. I really appreciated his help.
