On the 5th of May, I booked a wheelchair accessible car with RideOn Minicabs for my mum’s birthday (Saturday 23 May). I made it very clear during booking that the vehicle had to be wheelchair accessible, not a suggestion, not optional, but essential.
On the 23rd at 12, the car arrived… and, surprisingly (or not), it wasn’t wheelchair accessible at all. I called the office straight away and was met with a receptionist who was not only unhelpful but outright rude. His response? There’s nothing they can do because that was the only car available. No apology, no attempt to fix the situation, just “we’ll refund you” and that was that.
Meanwhile, my mum, who is wheelchair-bound, was left waiting outside in the heat, becoming increasingly uncomfortable and distressed, while we scrambled to arrange alternative transport ourselves so she wouldn’t miss her own birthday celebration.
We were told the refund would be processed that same day.
Fast forward to Monday 25 May, still no refund.
I call again and, unsurprisingly, speak to the same receptionist. This time I’m told I need to send an email to request the refund (despite already being told it would be done automatically). I send the email immediately and even call back to confirm they received it, they did and assured me it would be processed within 48 hours.
Fast forward again to Sunday 31 May, still no refund.
Another call, same receptionist, same attitude. When we asked what the delay was, we were repeatedly told we were “wasting our time” speaking to them. No explanation, no accountability, just rudeness and dismissal. We were even told to send another email, as if the first one disappeared into thin air.
To top it off, they’ve now blocked our email, which is quite a convenient way of avoiding having to deal with customers or issue refunds.
Summary:
• Booked a wheelchair accessible vehicle → did not receive one
• No apology or attempt to resolve the issue
• Refund promised → never processed
• Staff extremely rude and dismissive
• Customer forced to chase repeatedly with no resolution
If you’re looking for reliability, professionalism, or even basic customer service, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
If you’re happy to pay for a service you won’t receive and then be told you’re “Wasting your time” when you ask for your money back, then this company might be for you.
We will be pursuing the refund regardless, purely on principle at this point.
