Just completed a 360° surround view camera calibration on a 2021 Ford F-150 after a body shop replaced the passenger side mirror.
Many people don’t realize the side mirrors contain cameras that are part of the truck’s 360° bird’s-eye view system. When a mirror is replaced, the camera position changes slightly, which means the system needs to be recalibrated to keep the stitched image accurate.
After calibration, the top-down view displayed perfectly with no gaps or distortion, restoring proper visibility for parking and low-speed maneuvering.
Skipping this step after mirror replacement can cause misaligned images and inaccurate surroundings in the display.
If you’ve had a mirror, camera, or body panel replaced on a vehicle with a 360° system, calibration is essential.
