My daughter spent $150 to apply for a lease after they quoted her $1,950 for a unit. They came back with $2,002 because the are charging $52 a month for resident services fee which pays for grounds maintenance and their liability insurance. This is unheard of for renters. Apartment complexes don’t charge this fee and they are advertising drought tolerant plants so that is one of their water saving features. Have never been charged to water common areas of an apartment complexes. They are charging renters basically an HOA fee and those fees are for homeowners, not renters. Basically, the renters are paying for everything the owner of the complex should be paying. My daughter was approved but no way is she paying these fees!
