Amazing dinner, lovely service. Delicious Greek salad and Greek wine. Really friendly staff. The free almond raki at the end was delicious.

We are still daydreaming about this food one year after our first visit! Kastro is by far the best restaurant I have visited in my entire life. The area in which the restaurant is placed, the beautiful music, the staff, the food - everything is PERFECT. If you are staying near by we definitely recommend that you visit as it was the culinary highlight of our trip. We used to visit every single day, so the staff slowly became our friends - Cretan hospitality is of very high quality, and you should experience that if you have the opportunity. I want to thank the team for being the absolute best!

My husband and I came here for lunch after landing in Crete and found the experience to be perfect. Our waitress was very accommodating and explained all of the dish options very well! The atmosphere was very calming and authentic. Our food was so tasty, we just wish we could have finished it all!

Lunch here was excellent. Truly lovely staff, delicious food - highly recommend the snails and salads. The bread was the best we had in two weeks. Also fantastic coffee and ice cream - pistachio especially. It’s beautifully decorated with flowers as well - we enjoyed a long leisurely family lunch very much.

Airy restaurant open on all sides and surrounded by beautiful shrubbery. We booked in advance on the website as we thought it would be very busy based on the excellent reviews. It wasn't packed on a Monday, but busy enough for a good atmosphere. Service is really good and the food is really, really good Certainly worth a visit and I thought it was very reasonably priced.

Delicious food, made with love for traditional Cretan cuisine. The best restaurant we visited during our entire stay on the island. The salad I ate was one of the best in my life. We also ate the best and most unique saganaki in the world. You definitely have to eat there!

Absolute gem! Authentic Cretan cuisine with a modern twist. Outstanding professional, friendly and knowledgeable service. Visited twice, both times were excellent. All local produce and family run. Super friendly welcome and interesting selection of Cretan dishes. The saganaki was excellent along with fish, snails, goat, and lamb were all superb. Make sure to get the bread with the starters, or just order a load of pita.

This restaurant is a true hidden gem. They serve traditional local dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, presented with elegance and care. The flavors are authentic, and the service is warm and professional. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food and local cuisine.

So disappointed to discover this restaurant two nights before our departure.. excellent food great atmosphere service was just perfect the wine they recommended for our starters and plates were some of the best we tasted in Crete. Also the peach ice tea was fabulous the kids couldn't stop talking about it. Would definitely recommend!!
