Origins and Upbringing: A Life Raised with Wagyu
The story begins in 1962, when the first generation started this journey as a Wagyu merchant. As a craftsman, he faced the cattle, discerned the quality of the meat, and refined his skills. The family business expanded into meat wholesale, butcher shops, and the food industry, and I was raised alongside meat as the fifth generation. Wagyu was never a โspecial occasion treatโ for me. Since childhood, it was always a familiar part of my life.
A Turning Point Abroad: Shock and Resolve
However, in my 30s, I visited Americaโand that familiarity was deeply shaken. Cattle from Australia and America were sold as โWAGYU,โ and many people smiled as they ate, saying, โIs this Wagyu?โ Seeing that scene brought both surprise and frustration. The Wagyu spreading across the world was not the real thing. So, as the fifth generation, I made the decision to deliver authentic Wagyu to the world once again.
