my husband and I are visiting Charleston for a month from NYC. We love getting fresh sourdough and in NY, there are incredible bakeries on every street. But I'm telling you, the sourdough at Grit is next level. Honestly some of the best I've ever had (outside of France). I also love that they'll handslice it for you. I haven't tried their pastries yet but I'm sure they're also incredible. Love this place.

Excellent bakery! We went on a morning between Christmas and New Years to grab a couple items and coffee. All the pastries looked great and the ones we tried (chocolate croissant, ham & cheese croissant, and the chocolate cookie) were top-tier. Additionally, the coffee was some of the best in the area (we had both cold brew and straight espresso). The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I would go out of my way for this place - highly recommend.
